Breaking Free from Porn Addiction

Pornography promises fulfillment but leaves behind emptiness, guilt, and isolation. For many men, it becomes more than just a habit—it grows into a cycle of compulsion that impacts relationships, confidence, and faith. Authors like Matt Fradd and resources such as The Porn Trap point out that this cycle is fueled by secrecy and shame. When men keep silent, the struggle only deepens.

At Restored Christian Counseling, I walk alongside men who are ready to break free. Together, we explore what triggers the cycle—stress, loneliness, boredom, or hidden wounds—and begin building healthier patterns of thought and behavior. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), you’ll learn how to recognize distorted thinking, restructure it, and step into the reality of God’s truth.

I also encourage practical tools to support your journey. Tracking apps can help monitor triggers, frequency, and emotions. Accountability and filtering apps, while not required, often provide an added layer of support. These tools, combined with faith-based counseling, create a roadmap toward lasting freedom.

Scripture reminds us that “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17). Real transformation begins not in hiding, but in bringing struggles into the light of God’s mercy. Together, we’ll confront shame with grace and silence with honest conversation—so you can rediscover the man God has called you to be.

“For years I carried this struggle in secret. Counseling gave me a safe place to finally speak, and with God’s help, I’ve found freedom I never thought was possible.”

Meet the Counselor

I know what it’s like to be a man trying to live faithfully in a world that constantly pulls you in other directions. The pressures to succeed at work, show up for your family, battle temptation, and carry everything quietly can feel overwhelming. Too often, men try to push through alone—until it all starts to break down.

I’m Luke Johanni, a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). More importantly, I’m a husband, a father, and a man of faith. I’ve walked with men who are weighed down by porn, anger, shame, and depression, and I’ve seen what happens when those struggles stay hidden. My role is to give you a place where you don’t have to hide anymore.

In our work together, I integrate faith with proven approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). That means we’ll deal with the real thoughts, habits, and triggers that keep you stuck—while also grounding you in God’s truth about your worth, your purpose, and your identity as His son.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about building strength, courage, and hope that lasts. If you’re ready to stop carrying the weight alone, I’m here to walk with you.
